NY Children’s Fest Sets 2016 Dates

The 19th edition of the New York International Children’s Film Festival — an Oscar-qualifying event for the Best Animated Short Film category — will be held February 26 through March 20, 2016 at venues throughout New York City. The Festival has also opened the call for submissions of original, compelling and non-formulaic short and feature films for audiences ages 3-18.

The prestigious jury that will be evaluating the 2016 line-up includes actors Susan Sarandon, Geena Davis and Jeffrey Wright; filmmakers Christine Vachon, James Schamus and Gus Van Sant; and distinguished animators Bill Plympton, John Canemaker and Henry Selick, among others.

Deadlines for short film entries are September 9 (early) and October 7 (final) of 2015; for features, October 7 (early) and November 11 (final), 2015. Complete information, forms and official rules and regulations are at gkids.com/submit.
