DHX Media has inked broadcast deals with Disney XD channels for its animated fantasy series Fangbone! (50 x 11), recently commissioned by DHX TV for its Family CHRGD channel in Canada. Disney XD will bring the show to its viewers in the U.S., Latin America, South East Asia and Taiwan. XD U.S. also licensed from DHX the live-action original series Gaming Show (In My Parent’s Garage).
Fangbone! follows its titular hero — a young barbarian from Skullbania — as he travels through a magical portal into the suburbs of our world with a most dangerous burden in his possession. His mission is to protect the blackened and slightly jam-smelling big tow of Venomous Drool from being reunited with its master, the evilest sorcerer in all the planes of existence. Together with his new best friend Bill — a kid whose weirdness is his ultimate weapon — Fangbone must battle Drool’s monsterish creations, along with “foot finders,” magical independent contractors and the thieving Shadowsteppers to keep the toe secure.
The epic comedy is a Radical Sheep production, and will air on commissioning broadcaster DHX Television’s Family CHRGD network beginning in early 2016. The series is aimed at kids 8-12, based on the books by New York Times bestselling author Michael Rex.
