Sprout Snags ‘Maya’ Series & Movie

Studio 100 Media announces that NBCUniversal’s stateside preschool network Sprout has acquired the rights for both the CG television series and feature film adaptations of Maya the Bee. The show is co-produced by Studio 100 Animation with TF1 and ZDF; and Studio 100 Film presents the Maya the Bee Movie, a co-production of Studio 100 Media and Buzz Studios in association with Flying Bark Prod.

Maya the Bee (78 x 12) follows young, adventures bee Maya as she explores the meadow where she lives, meets other creatures and has fun with friends. The series premieres on Sprout Saturday, September 26, with new episodes airing Saturdays at 9 a.m. with reruns Sunday through Friday at 9 a.m. The movie is set to air Sept. 26 at 5 p.m. and again at 9 p.m. ET.
