With MIP Junior and MIPCOM set to swing into action this weekend, the deals are already starting to fly fast and furiously.
Here’s some of the most-recent:
- Zodiak Kids has pre-sold its new animation series Floogals to Discovery Kids (Latin America), TVO & Knowledge Network (Canada), Hop! Channel (Israel) and Spectrum Film (Indonesia) ahead of the preschool show’s launch on Sprout in the U.S. early next year.
- QQD Ltd. has signed an enhanced acquisition deal with Nick Jr. for a second season of the 3D animated preschool series Zack and Quack (26×11’) to air on Nick Jr. channels around the world, including Nick Jr. in the U.S., where it will premiere in the summer of 2016. Produced by creators QQD Ltd in partnership with UK producers, Belly Up Productions, Israeli Candy Bear Studios and Singapore’s Infinite Frameworks, Zack and Quack is a pop-up world of creative play where even the ordinary can be extraordinary… if you use your imagination.
- Turner Broadcasting has completed the global acquisition of the new animated series, Grizzy and the Lemmings for its second flagship kids channel, Boomerang, which will debut its first-ever original programming beginning this month. From the French production company Studio Hari, Grizzy and the Lemmings is a non-dialogue, playful family comedy following the hilarious exchanges of Grizzy the bear and a pesky tribe of Lemmings as they attempt to co-exist in a forest ranger’s house in the Canadian wilderness.
MIP Junior runs Oct. 3-4, followed by MIPCOM Oct. 5-8 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.
