Milan-based Atlantyca Entertainment has reported several major sales for its flagship television series, Geronimo Stilton, in advance of the DISCOP East market in Hungary.
Among the sales:
- Channel One Russia Worldwide has licensed seasons one and two (52 x 23’) for a mid-September premiere on the new children’s channel Carousel. The deal includes broadcast rights, in Russian, for pay TV and free TV in Russia, exclusive pay TV rights in former USSR countries and non-exclusive pay TV rights worldwide.
- Also on board for a September premiere is LRT, Lithuania’s public broadcaster, which has licensed seasons one and two.
- An agreement with Convergent Media to distribute DVDs in Romania through newspaper publisher Gazeta Sportulilor, beginning in 2012.
On the heels of Geronimo Stilton’s strong ratings success achieved by public broadcasters LTV in Latvia and RTP in Portugal, along with D Smart Pay TV in Turkey, all three broadcasters will be adding additional runs to their contracts for the hit animated series.
DISCOP East is set for June 21-23 in Budapest. The market was acquired by NATPE and next year will be called NATPE/Budapest.
