Warner Bros. Pictures has unleashed a new trailer for The LEGO Ninjago Movie, coming to theaters September 22, and the spot promises all the hallmarks of action, innovative animation and off-kilter humor that helped make the Masters of Spinjitzu series a TV hit and The LEGO Movie such a box-office success.
This next theatrical brick in WB’s LEGO building plans features the voices of Dave Franco as Lloyd, who with his fellow ninjas Jay (Kumail Nanjiani), Kai (Michael Peña), Cole (Fred Armisen), Zane (Zach Woods) and Nya (Abbi Jacobson) form a crack squad of warriors guided by Sensei Wu (Jackie Chan) and tasked with defending their island home of Ninjago — especially from the likes of the super-evil Garmadon (Justin Theroux), who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Awkward. The voice cast also features Olivia Munn as Koko.
Ninjago is the feature directorial debut of Charlie Bean, with a screenplay by Hilary Winston, Bob Logan & Paul Fisher (story by Kevin Hageman & Dan Hageman). The film is a production of Warner Animation Group, LEGO, Animal Logic animation studio, Vertigo Entertainment, Lin Pictures and RatPac-Dune Entertainment. Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Roy Lee serve as producers.
