Aardman and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe have revealed more details of their recently announced World War I adventure 11-11: Memories Retold. The title’s main protagonists are Kurt, Harry and their animal companions, and helping bring these characters to life as voice stars will be multi-award-winning actor Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings trilogy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Wilfred) and International Emmy Award nominee Sebastian Koch (Homeland, Bridge of Spies, The Lives of Others).
The story-driven experience will arrive November 9 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Wood will bring his 26 years of acting experience to the role of Harry, a Canadian-American photographer who joins WWI, only to discover the realities of war on the frontline. His previous voice work includes the lead roles in Over the Garden Wall, TRON: Uprising, 9 and Happy Feet.
With more than 30 years of experience on stage and screens, Koch will portray Kurt: a pacifist who is driven by duty. The German-born actor has earned several accolades in his home country and around Europe, and was nominated for the SAG Award for ensemble cast in 2016 for Homeland.
Developed by Aardman and DigixArt, 11-11: Memories Retold will allow players to explore various scenes rendered in a unique, painterly style. The story of 11-11: Memories Retold is inspired by true events — players will be able to experience two sides of a complex historical event, facing the dramatic consequences of World War I both at the front and the rear, while trying to preserve their humanity for their loved ones.
