One of the world’s most famous cartoon dogs is teaming up with culinary celebrities for a lip-smacking new adventure, Scooby-Doo! and the Gourmet Ghost, available in stores Sept. 11 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on DVD ($19.98 SRP) and Digital. Featuring the voices of kitchen wizards Bobby Flay (Beat Bobby Flay), Giada De Laurentiis (Giada in Italy) and Marcus Samuelsson (Chopped), the release also includes three tasty bonus episodes.
In Gourmet Ghost, Scooby, Shaggy and the Mystery Inc. gang visit the new cooking retreat in New Port Cove, Rhode Island: the Rocky Harbor Culinary Resort. Here they meet Fred’s uncle, Bobby Flay, and learn that the spot has been empty for over two centuries since the mysterious disappearance of the original owner and is rumored to be haunted by the Red Ghost. To promote the Resort’s grand opening, Bobby organizes a live telecast from its high-tech kitchen with TV’s biggest chefs (including De Laurentiis and Samuelsson). But when the Red Ghost makes a shocking live appearance, it could mean the Resort’s goose is cooked!
“We’re excited to debut this entertaining new Scooby-Doo! film that features some of television’s best-loved celebrity chefs. It’s fun to see Bobby, Giada and Marcus come to life in animated form,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Vice President Family & Animation Marketing. “We think viewers will be entertained by this original new story in which ghostly mystery mingles with the world of the culinary arts.”
The voice cast also features the familiar tones of Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo/Fred Jones, Grey Griffin as Daphne Blake, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy Rogers and Kate Micucci as Velma Dinkley. Scooby-Doo! And the Gourmet Ghost was executive produced by Sam Register, written by Tim Sheridan and directed by Doug Murphy.
