‘Spider-Verse’ Challenges ‘Incredibles 2’ Awards Odds
The team at Sony Pictures Animation got some great news today. The New York Film Critics Circle picked the studio’s edgy and well-reviewed new feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as its Best Animated Film of the year. The movie, which is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman and was produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, has been getting rave reviews (100 percent fresh on RottenTomatoes.com). The National Board of Review, however, picked Disney/Pixar’s Incredibles 2 as the top animated movie of the year. Next stop is the L.A. Film Critics Association Awards, which will be announced on Dec. 3rd. ASIFA’s Annie Award Nominees will be announced on Dec. 5th and the Golden Globe nominees will be unveiled on Dec. 11th.
