‘Secret Mountain Fort Awesome’ Blows Up CN

There are some cool new kids on Cartoon Network’s Monday night animation block as Secret Mountain Fort Awesome makes its series debut tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. The premiere will follow new episodes of familiar favorites Johnny Test (7 p.m.), The Amazing World of Gumball (7:30 p.m.), Adventure Time (8 p.m.), Regular Show (8:15 p.m.) and precede a new two-part episode of MAD (8:45 p.m.)

Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, created by Pete Browngardt and produced at Cartoon Network Studios, centers on a gang of freaky monsters living deep underground: underwear-clad leader Festro, pet-like Dingle, furry Slog, exfoliation-challenged Gweelok and (self descriptive) Fart. Shunned by humanity for their gross appearance and radical behavior, they are forced to bunk at Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, from which they launch their crazy stunts—say, stealing the sun, or fighting a heavy-metal tooth fair, or bathing with CG sharks.

In the first episode, “Monster Cops,” the gang discovers the power of the mustache as their facial hair makes people think they’re police officers. Check out some clips below:
