The attendance figures of this week’s MIPCOM were announced by Laurine Garaude, director of the TV division at the French conference. Over 12,500 people—including 4,360 buyers attended the content market this year, up from 12,400 attendees who were at the 2010 edition.
Garaude noted that the exhibition space at MIPCOM was sold out at the end of August this year to participants from 102 countries.
“It’s been a very busy, very effervescent, very active MIPCOM,” said Garaude. “It’s not technology versus TV or vice versa. We’re working together and together we’re going to go forward and thrive.”
The numbers for MIP Junior, which focuses on children’s programming were also on the rise. The two-day confab registered 1,079 participants (with 560 buyers) and 1,100 programs available to screen for buyers.
