Digital Domain Sets Florida Expansion

Digital Domain is expanding once again.

Having recently announced its new visual effects facility in Vancouver, the company also is planning a digital production studio in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

The new studio will create original content for animated feature film and video games. Digital Domain says it expects the facility will become operational next yer.

The expansion is being financed with a $50 million investment from Wyndcrest and is being supported by a grant from various Florida agencies.

‘Developing original content has always been a key part of our strategy, and a natural extension of the artistic and creative talent that the company has developed over the last fifteen years,’ said CEO Cliff Plumer. ‘We have identified a set of promising projects that are ideally suited to the Florida studio and look forward to getting started.’
