The tropical beauty and fragile ecosystem of the Amazon Rainforest make for an alluring journey when Shout! Kids, in collaboration with Cinema Management Group, releases their new animated kids feature, Ainbo: Spirit of the Amazon for home video on November 29.
Available on DVD, digital download, and on-demand, this inspiring fantasy film was adapted from a short story centered around a pint-sized heroine and her plight to rescue the rainforest written by award-winning filmmaker José Zelada (Kayara, Searching for Hearts).
Directed by Zelada and Richard Claus (The Little Vampire and The Thief Lord) and created out of a Peruvian-Dutch co-production uniting Tunche Films (Lima) and Cool Beans (Amsterdam), Ainbo: Spirit of the Amazon is an immersive fable filled with rich folklore, ecological issues relating to deforestation, and the importance of environmental conservation.
Here’s the official synopsis:
A world of adventure awaits you in Ainbo: Spirit Of The Amazon, the tale of a young girl determined to save her home in the deepest jungle of the rainforest. One day, Ainbo discovers that her homeland is being threatened and realizes that there are other humans in the world besides her people. Using the help of her spirit guides, Dillo the armadillo and Vaca the tapir, she embarks on a journey to seek help from the most powerful Mother Spirit of the Amazon, Turtle Motelo Mama. As she fights to save her paradise against the greed and exploitation of illegal gold mining, she struggles to reverse the destruction and the impending evil of the Yacaruna, the darkest demon that lives in the Amazon. Guided by her mother’s spirit, Ainbo resolves to save her land and her people before it’s too late!
The esteemed animated movie’s vocal cast includes Lola Raie (Cheaper by the Dozen), Naomi Serrano (New Amsterdam), Dino Andrade (Batman: Arkham Asylum), Joe Hernandez (Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy), Alejandra Gollas (Quinceañera), Bernardo De Paula (Carmen Sandiego), Thom Hoffman (Black Book), Yeni Alvarez (Pinocchio), Susana Ballesteros (The House of Flowers), Rene Mujica (Elena of Avalor), and Gerardo Prat (The Barrier).
