The long-awaited return of Vash the Stampede is nigh, as the ‘humanoid typhoon’ crashes into Crunchyroll’s streaming lineup this Saturday, January 7. The brand-new series TRIGUN STAMPEDE launches at 11:30 a.m. ET / 8:30 a.m. PT. Synopsis: Vash the Stampede’s a joyful gunslinging pacifist, so why does he have a $$6 million bounty on his head? That’s what’s puzzling rookie reporter Meryl Stryfe and her jaded veteran partner when looking into the vigilante only to find someone who hates blood. But their investigation turns out to uncover something heinous—his evil twin brother, Millions Knives.
TRIGUN STAMPEDE is the latest anime based on the hit manga by creator Yasuhiro Nightow, rendered in an updated hybrid style by animation studio Orange with original character designs by Hollywood concept artist Kouji Tajima (Loki, The Sandman, Space Jam: A New Legacy). The series is directed by Kenji Muto (Rage of Bahamut: Gensis, Zankyou no Terror) and written by Shin Okashima, Tatsuro Inamoto and Yoshihisa Ueda, from an original story by Takehiko Okishi, and features music by prolific composer Tatsuya Kato (FREE!, Food Wars and IDOLISH7 franchises).
The Japanese voice cast features Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Vash the Stampede, Sakura Ando as Meryl Stryfe, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Nicholas D. Wolfwood, Kenji Matsuda as Roberto De Niro, Junya Ikeda as Millions Knives, Koki Uchiyama as Legato Bluesummers, TARAKO as Zaz i.e. the Beast, Ryusei Nakao as William Conrad, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Young Vash, Yumiri Hanamori as Young Knives and Maaya Sakamoto as Rem Saverem.
Crunchyroll has licensed TRIGUN STAMPEDE for global release, excluding Asia but including some Asian countries such as the Philippines, Singapore, India and Pakistan, et al.
