The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) announces the Official Selections for its Young Audiences 7+ and Teen Audiences 13+ competition categories. OIAF’s newest competition category consists of 10 animated works that bridge the gap between adult and child audiences, including the latest from Pixar Animation Studio’s SparkShorts program, Self. This year’s Young Audiences 7+ includes nine selections, including a film from Portuguese high school students.
“Each year we try to find an array of voices and visions to introduce younger audiences to sides of animation that they can’t easily access,” says OIAF Artistic Director Chris Robinson. “These films will hopefully inspire and encourage a new generation of artists to follow their own creative paths.”
