‘The Tinies,’ ‘Dinomite & Lucy’ Top  2024 MIP Junior’s Most-Watched List

This past weekend, the children’s content market MIP Junior wrapped in Cannes, France. The event, which is a precursor to this week’s MIPCOM general content market, usually attracts about 1,200 delegates and about 350 buyers from over 60 countries, but the numbers have been down according to organizer Lucy Smith. She told Deadline that the number of attendees for the MIPCOM market fell by 500 this year. The confab organizers have high hopes for the MIP London event which takes place in February.

Miam! Distributions’ The Tinies was the most-screened show by buyers at the MIP Junior market over the weekend. The( 50×11’ + 1×22’) series is described as a character-driven sitcom about teamwork, crafts and fun  Aimed at preschoolers the series tells the story of a community of toys living in a town where each day brings new challenges to overcome together. Produced by Miam! animation in co-production with Panique! and Lunanime, the show will be available for delivery in Q3 2025. The Tinies is commissioned by Canal +, VRT / Ketnet and RTBF.

The second most watched show at the market was Toon2Tango’s Dinomite & Lucy (Toon2Tango GmbH & Co.) The 39 x11’ CG-animated series targets kids 6-9 and follows the adventures of a teenage dinosaur/ madcap inventor and his wild and unruly human pet, Lucy in the sleepy but eccentric dinosaur town of Fernham.

Next year’s MIPCOM will take place October 13 to 16 in Cannes. MIP London is slated for Feb. 23-27 at the city’s Savoy Hotel. Over 250 companies have already registered for the London event, which the organizers say won’t be competing with the London Screenings confab which will take place in a similar time frame (Feb. 23-28).
