Having made a delightful impression on the film festival circuit last year, A Greyhound of a Girl — a 2D animated feature based on the book by award-winning Irish novelist/screenwriter Roddy Doyle, has arrived to buy or rent on digital platforms for home audiences to enjoy. From celebrated animation filmmaker Enzo D’Alò (Pinocchio, Lucky & Zorba), the film launched Nov. 1 on Prime Video, YouTube, Apple TV, Google Play and Vudu.
Synopsis: Eleven-year-old Mary has an insatiable passion for cooking, and dreams of become a great chef. Her grandmother Emer, with whom she has a very special relationship, encourages her to make this dream come true. But every path has its obstacles, and facing them turns into quite an adventure.
In this delicate coming-of-age story, filled with joy & laughter, we join four generations of women as they head off on a glorious journey together. One that takes them down memory lane and gives them the opportunity to learn about each other, truly & deeply.
The voice cast features Brendan Gleeson, Rosaleen Linehan, Sharon Horgan, Charlene McKenna, Mia O’Connor and Paul Tylak. D’Alò directed the film and wrote the script with Dave Ingham (Clangers, Shaun the Sheep, Octonauts). Hollywood animation veteran Peter de Seve (Ice Age, Mulan, A Bug’s Life, Finding Nemo) provided the movie’s character design, and Iulian Grigoriu oversaw the animation.
