State of the Game

Step away from the console. Just for one evening, at least, and hear what the experts say about the future of the videogames that keep so many people locked in their basement offices for days on end.

What concepts and stories are in development? What are the opportunities for animators in the gaming industry? All will be revealed, in part, June 19, 2003 at the Glendale library, in Glendale Calif.

Confirmed speakers include: James Zachary, chief character animator, Spider-Man II the Game and Treyarch; Cory Barlog, animation director at Paradox Games and Sunil Thankamushy, animation director, Spark Unlimited. More panelists to be announced. Moderator: Rita Street, publisher of Animation Magazine.

The State of the Industry: Games roundtable takes place on Thursday, June 19 at the Glendale Public Library Auditorium, 222 E. Harvard Ave, Glendale, CA. Parking in city parking structure corner of Maryland and Harvard (entrance from each street). Free validated parking for 3 hours. 6:30 p.m. check in and networking, 7:00 p.m. panel discussion Admission: $5 for ASIFA-Hollywood and WIA members; $10 for non-members. Free admission for Animation Guild members. Bring your membership card for easy check-in. This is an open event. No RSVP required. Seating is limited to 200.
