Stash’s GSA Awards to Launch Careers

An interview for a potential dream job and your hard work proudly displayed on the cover of a DVD viewed by some of the industry’s biggest players?! Let’s just say Stash DVD Magazine has something to cushion the fall for student animators and designers gearing up to take the plunge into the "real world." The entertainment design and technology magazine has announced a call for entries to the first annual Global Student Animation Awards.

Students of the trade have a chance to enter their most outstanding work for consideration in three categories: Animation, Visual Effects and Motion Design. Winners from each category will have a job interview set up with a company of their choice, and Stash will put down up to $1,00 toward getting the students to their meetings with potential employers. The prize packages also include a personally engraved Apple G5 Dual Processor with 20" Apple Monitor, the latest versions of Maya, boujou, combustion, Adobe products and subscriptions to Stash DVD Magazine. This is a great opportunity to get your work out there, as projects from15 finalists will be featured in Stash, which is delivered to over a thousand of the industry’s biggest players each month. And for the top dog? One finalist will be selected as the Best of 2005 and their project will adorn the cover of Stash– talk about a resume booster.

The logistics: All entries must be received by June 1, 2005. Finalists and category winners will be announced August 7, 2005, and the September issue of Stash will reveal the Best of 2005 Winner. If you’re toiling away on a work-in-progress, you can pre-register an incomplete project before April 15, 2005 and receive a free issue of Stash along with a one-week extension on the deadline.

Stash DVD serves up the latest developments in TV and cinema commercials, broadcast design, branded content, virals, music videos, short films and more on 12 DVDs per year. You can submit work for the Global Student Animation Awards online at www.stashmedia.tv/gsaa.
