Kid Paddle Out Of Dock For Spectra Animation and Dupuis Audiovisuel

One year after its founding and its association with L’Équipe Spectra, Spectra Animation has begun production on its first effort, a co-production with Dupuis Audiovisuel titled Kid Paddle. The 52×11 television series, inspired by a comic strip popular among kids 8-12 in Europe and Québec, will be broadcast on TELETOON in Canada and on M6 and Canal J in France.

Spectra president André A. Bélanger had a pre-existing relationship with the Dupuis Audiovisuel team, having worked with them on the series Papyrus when he was president of Cactus Animation.

This co-production between Québec and France enables both Spectra Animation and Dupuis Audiovisuel to seek a portion of the financing in their respective territories and to maintain a connection with a European partner.

Bélanger and television sector vp Luc Châtelain will serve as executive producers of the new series. A merchandising campaign will get under way to coincide with the show’s launch.
