As the latest host of the popular preschool series Blues Clues, actor Donovan Patton usually does all the talking for his four-legged, animated pal, Blue. But this Sunday, fans of the long-running show will finally get to hear Blues voice when the puppy is transformed into a puppet for an all-new primetime special. Legend of the Blue Puppy will air on Nickelodeon Feb. 8 at 8:00 p.m.
In Legend of the Blue Puppy, Blue learns that there is special key that unlocks her greatest gift. When she finds the key, she unlocks a door to a live-action set where she goes from digital ink and paint to felt and stuffing. Marking a first in the series history, Blue also discovers she can talk directly to the audience.
Despite the new development, Blues Clues will continue to feature the animated world kids everywhere have come to love. However, Blue will now have the ability to enter the live-action world whenever she wants. She will also be able to answer viewer questions on-air in upcoming episodes. Kids can submit their questions at Nickjr.com.
Now in its seventh year, Blues Clues airs during the Nick Jr. block weekdays at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. In each episode, Joe (Donovan) invites young viewers into his computer-animated storybook world the help him and Blue solve the days puzzles. The series was created by Traci Paige Johnson, Todd Kessler and Agela C. Santomero.
