DIC Ent.’s all new animated series Dino Squad and Sushi Pack join the CBS Saturday morning KEWLopolis block on Nov. 3. Dino Squad consists of 13 half-hour episodes and is aimed at girls and boys ages 9-11. Sushi Pack from American Greetings Properties targets the same demographic with 26 11-minute episodes co-produced by DIC.
Dino Squad revolves around five quirky teens who suddenly gain the power to transform into dinosaurs. Their science teacher, the mysterious Ms. Moynihan, guides them as they learn to work together and use their unique abilities to protect Earth from an anthropomorphic Velociraptor who is creating mutant-saurs and accelerating global warming in his quest to bring back the Age of the Dinosaurs. In addition to action and adventure, the series provides pro-social and environmental messaging for kids. Interactive web site www.dinosquad.com will launch in conjunction with the series.
Sushi Pack centers on five crime-fighting pieces of sushi that protect Wharf City from over-the-top diabolical villains. The humorous and action-packed television treatment was written by Tom Ruegger and Nicholas Hollander, the Emmy Award-winning writers/producers behind such hits as Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures and Pinky and the Brain. British-born Rick Adams (a.k.a. DJ Rick), best known for hosting gigs on CBS’ Dance Revolution and AOL.com, voices the character Tako. The show features educational and pro-social messages created in consultation with a renowned child development expert.
In taking their slots on KEWLopolis (check local listings for times), Sushi Pack and Dino Squad join a lineup that includes Care Bears: Adventures in Care-A-Lot and Strawberry Shortcake from American Greetings Properties, and Cake and Horseland from DIC Ent.
