Blade III Sharpens Its Teeth

The third installment of the Blade franchise will be written and directed by David Goyer, who penned the first two installments, Variety reports. Goyer is no stranger to comic book adaptations. The in-demand writer is also wrapping the new Batman feature for Warner Bros. and co-wrote New Line’s upcoming Freddy vs. Jason, which will be released on August 15.

Blade III‘s storyline centers on the heroic vampire’s efforts to reverse a dark apocalyptic event that will put Earth under the control of the vampires. Actor Wesley Snipes should also be back to reprise his role when the film begins production in Vancouver this summer.

Goyer’s first stint behind the camera was as the writer and director of the Silver Nitrate film Zigzag, which also starred Snipes and John Leguizamo.
