Animation Block Party is open for submissions to its 12th annual film, set to run July 30-Aug. 2 at Rooftop Films and BAMcinématek in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Submissions are open until June 1. The fest offers juried prizes for top films, include software from Toon Boom, DigiCel FlipBook and Dragonframe.
Meanwhile, BAMkids Film Festival is set for Feb. 7-8 and will feature two ABP-curated showcases highlighting the world’s best cartoons for kids:
- Counting Stars is an ABP program for ages 2-5, with numbers, balloons, tricycles, and stars. An exclusive episode of Nickelodeon’s hit PAW Patrol will be appearing in this program along with new cartoons from Sesame Street. - Farther and Faster is an APB program for ages 5-8 with short snapshots of adventures and objects in motion. JibJab’s popular StoryBots animation will inhabit this showcase alongside international fest winners such as The Dam Keeper, A Tale of Momentum & Inertia and Vol au Vent.
