‘The Bob’s Burgers Movie’ Enjoys a $15 Million Memorial Day Weekend

Disney/20th Century’s  The Bob’s Burgers Movie landed at the No. 3 spot of the three-day weekend box office chart with an estimated 4-day gross of $15 million, which is a solid record for a 2D animated feature.
The long-anticipated feature version of Loren Bouchard’s Emmy-winning FOX-TV series currently received an impressive score of 88% on Rottentomatoes.com The charming 2D-animated movie (produced by Bento Box) is written by Bouchard and Nora Smith and directed by Bernard Derriman with Bouchard serving as co-director. Set during a fateful summer for the Belchers, the pic  features the voices of Kristen Schaal, H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, Larry Murphy, Zach Galifianakis and Kevin Kline returning for their big-screen roles. Billed as a “musical comedy-mystery-adventure,” the storyline find a ruptured water main creating a giant sinkhole right in front of Bob’s Burgers, ruining the family’s plans for a great summer.

1.  Top Gun: Maverick (Paramount) Tom Cruises well-reviewed movie landed on top, breaking all previous Memorial Weekend records with an impressive 4-day $151 million gross.
2. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness  (Disney) 4 day $21.1 million: total cume $375.4 million (fourth week)
3. The Bob’s Burgers Movie (20th/Disney) 4-day $15 million
5. The Bad Guys (Universal/DreamWorks) 4-day: 6.1 million total $82.8M (sixth week)
7. Sonic the Hedgehog 2  (Paramaount) 4-day $3.12 million Total $186.2 million (Eighth Week)
