Following its gala screening at the Los Angeles Anime Film Festival, the highly anticipated anime feature No Game No Life Zero will receive a special two-night cinematic engagement in nearly 50 theaters across the US. Presented by Fathom Events in partnership with Azoland Pictures, the screenings are set for October 5 at 7 p.m. (subtitled) and Oct. 8 at 12:55 p.m. (dubbed).
In addition to the feature film — which is adapted from the sixth volume of hit Japanese light novel series No Game No Life by Yū Kamiya — the screening events will include a special welcome from Sentai Filmworks ADR director Kyle Jones and voice actors Scott Gibbs, Caitlynn French, Shannon Emerick, Kira Vincent Davis and Sara Ornelas.
The series follows undefeated gamers Sora (Gibbs) and Shiro (French) as they are challenged by the god of games to a chess match – and win. Consequently, they are brought to the alternate reality of Disboard. No Game No Life Zero unfolds 6,000 years before Sora and Shiro were even a blink in the history of Disboard: War consumes the land, tearing apart the heavens, destroying stars, and even threatening to wipe out the human race. Amid the chaos and destruction, a young man named Riku leads humanity toward the tomorrow his heart believes in. One day, in the ruins of an Elf city, he meets Shuvi, a female exiled “Ex-machina” android who asks him to teach her what it means to have a human heart.
