DHX Media Signs Deal to Sell Halifax Animation Studio, Terms Not Disclosed
The Canadian kids’ entertainment powerhouse is selling the shop to IoM Media Ventures as part of an ongoing strategic shift to streamline its production operations. The deal does not include DHX’s news program This Hour Has 22 Minutes, which will continue to be produced in Halifax.

The 34th edition will take place in Berlin from Nov. 20-25, presenting more than 400 films in 52 thematic programs in a variety of venues. This year’s fest received more than 5,000 submissions which have been whittled down to a broad selection of animation, documentary and narrative shorts celebrating sharp storytelling and visual experimentation. Highlights include the Sound & Vision, Eject: The Long Night of ODd Films, and immersive Virtual Nightmares, as well as Volker Gerling’s wonderfully personal flip-books, dystopian Berlin animation The Quest for a Real Hard Hob with live music accompaniment, and focuses on Colombia, Madrid, and new Chinese talent. Plus, the KUKI sister fest for kids’ films.
