Dr. Laura Makes Animated House Calls

She has the gift of gab, but does she have what it takes to make in the animation world? Controversial radio personality and best-selling author Dr. Laura Schlessinger has recently completed production on a new direct-to-video series titled Little Furry Tales.

The videos take place in a magical land where young animals learn the lessons of right and wrong through morality tales. Schlessinger created the series with family film veteran C. Scott Votaw of Los Angeles-based KidzVid Ent. Votaw has been involved in the development of such properties as Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers (Saban), Bible Man (Pamplin), Francesco (Lyrick) and Kingsley’s Meadow (Sony Wonder/American Bible Society).

Little Furry Tales is being produced and distributed by KidzVid Ent. Schlessinger is executive producing through her My Kid’s Mom banner. In addition, she is providing the voice of a butterfly character.

The first of two videos, Little Furry Tales: Summer Fun!, hits stores this fall and is available now through www.kidzvid.com. Two additional videos are currently in production. Proceeds from each video sold will benefit The Dr. Laura Schlessinger Foundation’s My Stuff|Bags Program that provides children who arrive in crisis centers with toys, toiletries, a teddy bear and a blanket.

More than 12 million listeners catch Schlessinger’s weekly radio show on more than 315 stations nationwide. Her most recent book, Ten Stupid Things Couples Do To Mess Up Their Relationships (Harper Collins), has been on the New York Times best-seller list for more than ten weeks.
