Nickelodeon and kids’ consumer products developer Fuhu Inc. have announced a multi-year deal that will see Fuhu produce and distribute Nickelodeon-themed table accessories and nabi Jr. tablets pre-loaded with the network’s content. The first product of the partnership is the recently released touch-screen nabi Jr. tablet, which comes with educational apps, games and videos from Nick preschool series like Dora the Explorer, Team Umizoomi and Bubble Guppies.
This spring, a line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-inspired mobile tablet accessories including character bumpers, Kinabis and stands, will be available in the U.S., ranging from $19.99 to $79.99. Fuhu is also an associate sponsor of Nickelodeon’s 26th Kids’ Choice Awards, airing Saturday, March 23 at 8-9:30 ET/PT.
The nabi Jr. tablet features an NVIDIA Tegra dual-core processor, Android 4.0 ICS, 5-inch high-resolution (800 x 480) capacitive touch screen and rotating front and back camera. The nabi Jr. is uses the first tablet-based adaptive learning system, utilizing a holistic approach to courseware rather than individual textbooks and stand-alone apps. The tablet retails for $99.
