European entertainment company Planeta Junior has launched a new, aged-down version of an iconic character with Baby Heidi, which reinvents Johanna Spyri’s plucky heroine for the youngest members of the family. The tot stars in a series of YouTube videos featuring popular songs for babies and children in Catalan, English, Italian and Spanish.
The Baby Heidi videos are animated in a colorful, bright style and feature baby versions of key characters from the classic children’s story, including Heidi, Pedro, Snowflake the goat and Josef the St. Bernard dog. Together, they help parents teach children a love of nature, friendship and joyful living, just as they did from the original Heidi in their childhoods. Baby Heidi will be featured content on the YouTube Kids homepage.
The videos are supported by a new website with weekly articles on parenting tips and advice. Baby Heidi will also have her own Instagram account where you can find character memes and images.
Planeta Junior is planning an expansion to additional formats and products in the near future.
