Frank Saperstein

CEO/Exec Producer, Surprise Bag, Inc.

Frank is an award-winning producer, writer, and studio executive. He oversees all aspects of Surprise Bag’s development, producing and consulting business, including IP incubation, financing, distribution, co-production partnerships and production for live action and animated media. He has supervised and consulted on the creation and development of hundreds of properties with an extremely high success rate of network development and pick-up with Disney, Nickelodeon, Warner Bros., NBC-Universal, PBS, Peacock, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Youtube, CBC, Corus, and other platforms. His first novel, “Victor and The Infinite & Mysterious Hallway of Loos” co-written with Rita Street for Green Kid’s Club is in development with Mexico’s Anima Estudios, with Saperstein and Street serving as writing EP Showrunners. Frank is an expert in international co-productions.

Mr. Saperstein recently served as an expert witness on children’s media for international law firm Quinn Emanuel and regularly consults as an industry expert for law firms, venture capital, private equity, banks, non-profits and governmental agencies on the analysis, analytics and evaluation of brands, corporate assets, and industry trends for mergers, acquisitions, investment, and dispute resolution. He has been instrumental in the merger, sale, and public offering of multiple companies.

Frank previously served as EVP at Tricon Film’s & Television, SVP of Family Television for Entertainment One building the “Peppa Pig” franchise, Co-CEO/Creative Director of top international animation studio PASI (Philippine Animation Studio, Inc.) in Manila, President of Canadian animation studio, Yeti Farm Creative, providing production services for clients including Disney, SONY, Amazon Prime, Nickelodeon, and Nelvana. He has also served as advisor to Singapore’s Media Development Authority and as a Development Executive with VH1/MTV Networks. Frank’s early credits include gender-bending classics “Pee-wee’s Playhouse”, (CBS), “Bob & Margaret” (Comedy Central) and EMMY nominated “Ren & Stimpy”, (Nickelodeon), as well as a stint as Producer/Director with Prince’s Paisley Park Studios. He holds an MFA from New York University Tisch School of The Arts where he won a Ten Best Student Oscar and several other awards and accolades.
