Rich Magallanes

Executive Producer, "DORA"

Rich Magallanes serves as Executive Producer and Showrunner for DORA, Nickelodeon’s all-new CG-animated preschool series, premiering on Paramount+, featuring the triumphant return of the iconic Latina heroine. With imaginative character-driven storylines, the series follows everyone’s favorite bilingual explorer, Dora, and her best monkey friend, Boots, as they embark on epic adventures in a fantastical rainforest.

Throughout his more than 20 years in the entertainment industry, Magallanes has gained experience as a network executive, producer, developer, creator and team leader for high-profile brands in kids’ entertainment. Magallanes also created and worked as showrunner on Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty, which aired on Nickelodeon in 2019. Magallanes continued to act as creative consultant, writer, developer and showrunner for several projects internationally and domestically. 

During his previous tenure at Nickelodeon, Magallanes served as SVP Current Series and Production for hit animated series--including SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and many more--but he also founded and led Nickelodeon’s Writing Fellowship, an initiative that has helped advance the careers of talented writers and secure employment in the entertainment industry. 

A longtime champion of diversity, Magallanes was honored as one of the “2013 Most Powerful and Influential Latinos in Entertainment” by The Imagen Foundation. He also completed the NAMIC (National Association for Multi-ethnicity In Communication) Leadership Program in 2006 and delivered several keynote speeches for organizations that serve Latino kids, including CORE4 STEM, held by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in San Antonio, Texas, for over 5000 Latino boys and girls in 2019.
