Sadaf Cohen Muncy is the Head of Development and Production at HappyNest, a first-of-its-kind independent production company focused on helping artists and creators launch their next kids and family animated franchises. A 20-year veteran of the entertainment industry, Muncy works with creators to build and monetize their passion projects, creating new worlds of unforgettable characters and shows that shape and influence audiences worldwide. Muncy is currently developing IP with best in class partners across all mediums and has closed multiple deals with talent, authors, and cross-platform business partners. In addition to the projects in development and production, HappyNest recently closed an equity investment into GoKidGo, an audio company geared towards making content for kids where Muncy and her team are scaling its IP.

Muncy joined HappyNest from MGA Entertainment, where she served as Vice President of Entertainment and Executive Producer. During her tenure at MGA Entertainment, Muncy built their entertainment division from the ground up, developing and producing live-action, animation, and stop motion content for all MGA brands, including the #1 girls brand L.O.L. Surprise!, Rainbow High, Bratz, Project Mc2, and Little Tikes. Under her leadership, the L.O.L. Surprise! YouTube Channel grew to over 1 billion views and contributed to MGA’s $5 billion+ in annual revenue.

“Barbie” wasn’t the only classic brand that had an amazing year with audiences. We’ll take a look at some of the beloved classic animation and toy brands that were revamped and re-introduced over the past year. We’ll talk to some of the creative forces behind these hot animated properties to find out the best ways to re-introduce a class property to a new generation of fans on the small and the big screens. They’ll also discuss some of the challenges and pitfalls of trying to modernize an evergreen property for a modern audience.
