Barcelona-based D’Ocon Films will be serving up a fresh new season of its popular animated series The Fruitties at the upcoming MIPTV market in Cannes.
D’Ocon first presented the original Fruitties at MIP in 1990. The show was billed as the first animated series produced and painted with the studio’s trademark digital computer system, the “D’Oc Animation System” created and patented by Antoni D’Ocon. This year at the MIPTV market, the studio will peel the new 2019 reboot of the 52 X 11 minutes children’s toon.
The show centers on a community of peaceful and cheerful fruits that live in a supposedly inactive volcano. However, when the volcano begins to rumble, they are all forces to find a new home. During the search, the show’s protagonists Roly, Thorny, and Pak will stumble into various entertaining adventures and work together as a team, while teaching young viewers about the values of friendship, generosity, compassion and especially equality regardless of their shapes, colors or gender.
