Henson’s Classic Library Available at MIPCOM

The Jim Henson Company will bring popular titles from its Family Classics and Fantasy library to the MIPCOM market. Since the company’s HIT and Warner Bros. deals have expired, it will now take over their sales directly at the market.

‘With broadcasters continuing to seek out top quality , evergreen programming with brand appeal, MIPCOM this year provides the perfect platform to share this library of classic properties which have enormous worldwide recognition,’ says Sam Ewing, head of international sales for the Henson Co.

Fraggle Rock, Jim Henson’s Mother Goose Stories, Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas, Jim Henson’s The Hoobs and Jim Henson’s Construction Site fall under the family classics banner, while titles such as Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal and Farscape are part of the Henson Fantasy library. Melissa Segal, senior VP of Global Consumer Products, will seek licensing and merchandising programs for these releases.

Henson Co.’s latest CG-animated show Dinosaur Train debuts on PBS KIDS this fall. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop won an Engineering Award at the recent Emmy Engineering Awards for its innovative Henson Digital Puppetry Studio, a real-time animation system that allows performers to puppeteer and voice digital characters in real-time powered by Nvidia Quadro FX graphics processors.
