Known for its work on TV shows like Reboot and video releases like Barbie as Rapunzel and the upcoming Hot Wheels features, Mainframe Ent Inc. is moving into branding and commercials. The computer animation house has created the logo, branding, and original animation segments for this year’s MTV Movie Awards, scheduled to air June 5.
The graphic and animation segments, designed around the superhero theme of the show, will include category introductions and the show’s opener and closer. The occasion will mark the first time MTV will use custom CG animated segments to enhance the awards. Promotional spots for the Movie Awards will also include animation.
Mainframe should feel at home creating comic book-inspired animation to highlight nominees like Spider-Man and Daredevil. The studio is producing animation for Sony Pictures Television’s new CG Spider-Man series on MTV.
Mainframe CEO Rick Mischel remarks, “As Mainframe continues to grow, it’s a natural transition to offer our services to commercial and branding projects in need of cutting-edge CGI animation and design.”
In addition to taking on the MTV Movie Awards, Mainframe has expanded its slate of projects by recently joining forces with Animation Collective to market web design and flash animation services to producers for television, film, home video and the Internet.
