Nelvana Unveils New Franklin for MIPCOM

Franklin the turtle is set to return in a CG-animated series co-produced by Canadian company Nelvana and Singapore’s Infinite Frameworks.

The series, titled Franklin and Friends, will be aimed at kids 4-7 and consist of 52 11-minute episodes that can air as 26 half-hour episodes.

Nelvana is taking the series to MIPCOM this year, along with a 2D animated series called Scaredy Squirrel. Based on a book series by Melanie Watt, the series is about a lovable and slightly nerd and obsessive character who nonetheless brims with confidence. The series, set to premiere on Canada’s YTV in 2011, consists of 26 half-hour episodes, each with a pair of 11-minute installments.

Other programs Nelvana will present at MIPCOM include Mike the Knight, Babar and the Adventures of Badou, Beyblade: Metal Masters, Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge and Hot Wheels Battle Force 5: Fused.
