Following preliminary discussions at MIPTV, Middle East Media has licensed the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) production Noah & Saskia for Free TV in the Middle East. The series is co-produced with CBBC.
A mixture of live action, animation and digital vfx, Noah & Saskia is set in Melbourne, Australia; London, England; and a fictional part of cyberspace called Webweave. The inspirational story focuses on two teenagers from opposite sides of the globe who learn to develop their talent and creativity while communicating issues via the Internet. They project their ideal selves into a virtual world and consequently get a little closer to reaching those ideals in the real world.
Webweave was created with the ACTF’s own animation software, Kahootz, which the company says also garnered considerable interest at MIPTV. See more information at http://www.kahootz.com.au.
ACTF has also licensed Worst Best Friends to STV Slovakia and seasons one and two of Crash Zone to Sunflower Advertising Co. in Vietnam. Tung-Hoa Advertising has picked up Escape from Jupiter and Return to Jupiter for air on VTV, while Gama Taktik Malaysia readies Legacy of the Silver Shadow for air on RTM. Radio Television Brunei will air Crash Zone, and TV Escola Brazil has re-licensed I Think (Lift Off).
