Playhouse Disney Debuts in Latin America

Disney and ESPN Media Networks Latin America today announced the launch of their new Playhouse Disney Channel in Latin America. Featuring programming especially designed for preschoolers, the 24-7 network will be offered in the basic subscription package offered by Cablevisi’n, Multicanal and Teledigital starting Jun 1. The outlet joins existing Disney Channel and Jetix cable channels, present in 19 countries in the region, in providing animated and live-action family entertainment.

Playhouse Disney Channel caters to kids 2-5, as well as their parents and caregivers. The outlet encourages comprehensive preschool child development through innovative, learning-based programs featuring music, stories and learning segments. Programs will include established favorites and new animated and live-action series.

Three different Playhouse Disney Channel feeds will be offered in Latin America. The North feed will cover Caribbean countries, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Dominican Republic and Venezuela, while the South feed serves Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Peru. Both will broadcast in Spanish, while the Brazil feed goes out in Portuguese.
