Armstrong Moving Pictures (AMP) today announced that Starlight Home Entertainment will distribute its award-winning The Wheels on the Bus Video– Mango and Papaya’s Animal Adventure, featuring the vocal talents of The Who’s Roger Daltrey.
The 33-minute musical video adventure, based on the time-honored children’s song, sends young viewers on magical adventures to the zoo, the aquarium and the farm with a combination of live actors, puppetry and CG animation. Daltrey provides the speaking and singing voice of bus driver Argon the Dragon, and sings the title song and three new tunes composed by Laura Hall (ABC’s hit improv game show, Whose Line Is It Anyway?).
Starlight Home Entertainment, which recently distributed the nationwide bestseller, The Happiest Baby on the Block, will handle both VHS and DVD distribution of Wheels on the Bus to video stores, grocery stores, drugstores, bookstores, toy stores, children’s stores and other retailers. The distributor plans to begin pre-book sales on September 13 for a street date of October 12.
Earlier this year, The Wheels on the Bus Video–Mango and Papaya’s Animal Adventure won the coveted Parents’ Choice Silver Honor Award from the Parents Choice Foundation, as well as a KIDS FIRST!
