The Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) have announced nominations for outstanding achievement in television, new media, news, radio/audio, and promotional writing during 2017. Winners will be honored at the 2018 Writers Guild Awards on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at concurrent ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York City. Patton Oswalt will be hosting the the West Coast gala.
The Animation category has two episodes each nominated from familiar favorite The Simpsons and streaming sensation BoJack Horseman, and one episode of Bob’s Burgers. Simpsons has taken the prize 11 times since the category began in 2002 (out of a whopping 50 nominations); BoJack won this year, and Bob’s Burgers the year before.
