This year’s online Annecy Festival and MIFA (June 15-30) is aiming to deliver all the fascinating, diverse programming that attendees are accustomed to at the physical editions. To prime animation palates for the future of the artform, the confab is once again gathering celebrated masters and up-and-coming creators to discuss their works in progress, preview exclusive images and materials of their upcoming films, and recap the secrets to their successes with “making of” and masterclass sessions.
The Work in Progress (WIP) section will spotlight projects from around the world. All of these works are different and unique, using diverse techniques such as cut-out elements for The Island, puppets, live-action shots and photos for No Dogs or Italians Allowed, 2D for The Summit of the Gods and The Cuphead Show! and drawings on paper for Mum Is Pouring Rain.
