The VIEW Conference has announced that Rob Bredow, visual effects supervisor and co-producer for Lucasfilm’s brand-new Solo: A Star Wars Story, will deliver a keynote address at the 2018 event — taking place October 22 to 26 in Turin, Italy. Released May 25 by Disney, Solo is directed by Ron Howard and follows the adventures of a young Han Solo with Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and other out of this world characters.
In addition to supervising the visual effects for this second film in the “Star Wars Story” anthology, Bredow was recently appointed Senior Vice President, Executive Creative Director & Head of Industrial Light & Magic, in charge of all four of ILM’s global studios. Bredow joined ILM as a visual effects supervisor in 2014. He helped launch ILMxLAB in 2015 to develop, create, and release story-based immersive entertainment. In 2016, he was promoted to Chief Technology Officer of Lucasfilm.
VIEW organizers previously announced Mireille Soria as its first confirmed keynote speaker.
