FOX Orders ‘The Great North’ Pitch from ‘Bob’s Burgers’ EPs

FOX TV has ordered a presentation for a new animated comedy set in Alaska from the brilliant Bob’s Burgers trio of creator/exec producer Loren Bouchard and writers/co-exec producers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux. The new project, titled The Great North, will feature a comic A-list cast including Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Jenny Slate (Bob’s Burgers), Megan Mullally (Will & Grace), Paul Rust (Love), Aparna Nancherla (BoJack Horseman), Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth) and Dulcé Sloan (The Daily Show).

The Great North will follow the adventures of Alaskan family the Tobins, as single dad “Beef” tries to keep his oddball kids close — especially as the artistic ambitions of his only daughter, Judy, lure her from the family fishing boat to the glamorous world of the local mall.

The concept is written and co-created by Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux, and Regular Show writer/storyboarder Minty Lewis, with Bouchard supervising. All four will executive produce.

FOX recently gave a straight-to-series order to Emily Spivey’s animated comedy Bless the Harts, about an American Southern family, and earlier this year greenlit a pilot for Kevin Hart’s Lil Kev.

Bob’s Burgers has been a major hit for the network, and has racked up seven Emmy Award nominations with two wins for Outstanding Animated Series since its debut in 2011.
