The Kidscreen Summit is in full swing at the InterContinental Miami this week, marking the midpoint with the annual Kidscreen Awards ceremony on Tuesday evening. Sponsored by the Canada Media Fund, the winners were selected by two panels of industry judges across numerous Programming and Creative Talent categories.
Taking the Best Animated Series honors were Doc McStuffins and Sarah & Duck (Preschool, tie), Grizzy and the Lemmings (Kids), and Bob’s Burgers — which also won Best in Class in its Teens/Tweens section. Revolting Rhymes won Best One Off – Kids. Animated special The Snowy Day earned Best in Class and Best One-Off for Preschool. Peppa Pig won Creative Talent awards for Best Directing and Best Voice Talent. And Trollhunters scored the most toon wins with Creative Talent nods for Best Writing and Best Animation, plus Best New Series – Kids.
