Women in Animation has organized the first in a series of professional development panels, with a spotlight on the legal side of working in animation set for May 6.
Titled “Contracts, Copyrights and Trademarks,” the organization describes the event thus:
Are you a creator? An artist? A writer? A producer? These legal issues may sound like “the boring stuff”, but if you want to succeed in this business, you should have a basic understanding of what they’re all about. Lawyers, agents, and producers answer your questions and help you avoid getting ripped off.
Panelists for the event include Annette Van Duren, Adam Sullivan, Craig Miller, Frank M. Lunn, Louise Nemschoff and Kaaren Brown.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. at The Animation Guild, 1105 N. Hollywood Way, Burbank CA, 91505. Light refreshments will be served.
The event is free for WIA members and $25 for non-members. For more information on WIA and the event can be found online at www.womeninanimation.org.
