Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds and Emma Stone have signed to reprise their voice roles in DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming sequel to their 2013 box office hit, The Croods. Directors Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco revealed the news to ComingSoon.net during an interview today.
The directors weren’t quite as forthcoming about the plotline for the sequel.
“There’s not much to talk about yet,” said Sanders,”because we’ve got a big lump of clay and we’re forming it as we speak.”
“[There will be] lots of good creatures,” DeMicco reveals. “We’ve got creatures that never got into the first movie. We’re going to take a very, very close look at those.”
DreamWorks’ The Croods was a box office and critical hit when it was released in May earlier this year. The colorful Stone Age-era set movie, grossed over $585 million worldwide. It also featured the voices of Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman. Fox Home Ent. will release the movie on DVD and Blu-ray on October 1st.
