‘Despicable Me 3’ Sets World Premiere for Annecy

Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures’ seventh animated feature Despicable Me 3 will receive a grand debut with a World Premiere screening during the Annecy festival. The highly anticipated sequel will play Wednesday, June 14 at 8:30 p.m. in English with French subtitles.

The latest entry in the Despicable Me franchise continues the adventures of Gru (voiced by Steve Carrell), Lucy (Kristen Wiig), their adorable daughters and the Minions, and introduces new characters like ’80s child star turned super villain Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker) and Gru’s long-lost twin, Dru.

Despicable Me 3 is directed by Pierre Coffin & Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon, and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio. Illumination CEO and founder Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy produce. More on the film here.

The film will have a wide release in France on July 5, featuring the voices of Gad Elmaleh (Midnight in Paris) and Audrey Lamy (Christophe Gans’ Beauty and the Beast). The picture opens in the US on June 30.
