Lionsgate, Crest Team for Norm of the North

Lionsgate will co-produce the CG animated feature Norm of the North with Crest Animation Studios.

The film will be a stereoscopic 3D film and is the second film Lionsgate will produce and distribute in North America under a three-movie deal with Crest. The first film is Alpha & Omega, an animated film due out Sept. 17.

The film is written by Steven and Daniel Altiere and scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2012.

Norm of the North is about a polar bear and a trio of Arctic Lemmings who head south after their icy home melts around them to become a star as the dancing mascot of a company he later learns is responsible for the destruction of his home.
