Guru, Immedium Launch ‘Justin Time’ Books

A new series of books based on Guru Studio’s charming preschool adventure series Justin Time will be available this September through the innovative publishing house Immedium. The first book in the series, is called Justin Time, The Pancake Express and is based on an episode from the first season of the show, which airs on Sprout. The book was adapted and illustrated by Brandon James Scott, who also created the series at Guru.

“We’re very excited to bring our unique Justin Time brand of storytelling and fun to books, so that children and their families can enjoy the stories in a whole new way,” said Frank Falcone, president and creative director of Guru Studio. “We chose to reach out to Immedium because they produce beautiful, top-quality titles that capture children’s imaginations. They are the perfect publishing partner for Justin Time.”

“A big part of Justin Time are the visuals,” said Scott. “In developing the look of the show, we researched a variety of classic children’s books for inspiration so that when we started reimagining the show as a series of books the process was so natural. We returned to the place where we started.

Justin Time: The Pancake Express puts Justin and his pal Squidgy in the driver’s seat aboard a classic steam train as they set off to help their friend Olive deliver yummy maple syrup to Flap Jack Falls in time for the Pancake Festival. They soon discover that it’s not easy to make tracks through the Canadian wilderness and learn that if they stick to their goal they can achieve sweet success!
